About this course

Ready to learn Java but prefer doing over just reading theory? This course is designed as a hands-on playground where you'll write code from the very beginning, turning abstract concepts into tangible results. You will build a strong, practical foundation in Java by creating a series of small, functional applications. By the end, you'll understand core programming concepts and be able to write, compile, and run your own simple programs with confidence, translating ideas into working code. What you'll learn: - Understand fundamental Java syntax, including variables, data types, operators, and control flow. - Apply core object-oriented programming (OOP) principles like classes, objects, and inheritance. - Work with essential data structures such as arrays and lists to manage collections of data. - Handle common errors and exceptions to make your programs more robust and predictable. - Practice writing basic unit tests for your code with JUnit to verify its correctness. - Manage project setup and dependencies with an introduction to build tools like Maven. - Build simple but complete command-line applications from scratch. The course begins with the absolute basics, explaining the Java environment and foundational terminology. Each new topic is introduced with clear explanations and immediately put into practice through written coding challenges to solidify your understanding. This course is for absolute beginners. No prior programming experience is necessary to get started. Start building your Java skills today.

Hmm, I expected more practical application. The explanations were a bit abstract and I'm not sure how I'll use this yet.

I guess it's okay if you already know the basics. For someone completely new, the structure might be confusing.

Honestly, pretty disappointing. The concepts weren't explained well at all, and the examples were confusing. Wouldn't do this again.
