Long-Term Co-Parenting: Transitions, Teen Years, and Sustained Cooperation

Co-parenting extends across many years. This applied course teaches you to navigate the major transitions, the demanding teen years, and sustained cooperation across the long arc. By the end of this course you will be able to handle major transitions in either household, support children through the teen years across two homes, sustain cooperation as life changes for either parent, and adapt the plan across years. What you will learn: - Approaches to major transitions including new partners, remarriage, and additional children - Approaches to relocation including legal and emotional considerations - Approaches to supporting children through the teen years across two homes - Approaches to handling significant breakdowns in cooperation and what to do - Approaches to handling significant life events including illness or death - Approaches to the eventual shift as children become young adults - Approaches to sustaining your own well-being as a co-parent across years The course is structured around six applied modules. Each produces a written artifact: a transitions plan, a relocation framework, a teen years plan, a cooperation breakdown response, a life events plan, and a young adulthood transition plan. This course is written for co-parents thinking across the long arc. By the end you will have moved from year-by-year reactivity to a sustained, long-arc framework that protects children's stability and your own well-being.
