Large gatherings — concerts, sporting events, festivals, conferences — carry risks that are qualitatively different from those in static environments. Crowd density, entry and exit flow dynamics, the presence of alcohol, and the emotional intensity of live events create conditions where small planning failures can have serious consequences.
