About this course

The cryptocurrency market contains thousands of projects of wildly varying quality. At one end are projects with genuine technical innovation, transparent teams, and tokenomics designed to create long-term value alignment. At the other end are projects designed to extract value from retail participants. Most projects fall somewhere between these poles, and distinguishing them requires a structured research process, not a list of tips. This course builds that process. By the end of this course you will be able to read a cryptocurrency whitepaper critically and identify the key claims that require independent verification, evaluate a project's tokenomics including supply schedule, distribution, vesting, and incentive alignment, assess a project team's credibility and track record using publicly available information, compare a project's market capitalization to comparable assets as a relative valuation reference, and build a repeatable due diligence checklist for evaluating new token projects. What you will learn: - Whitepaper anatomy: what sections to read first, what language patterns signal weak technical substance - Tokenomics deep dive: total supply, circulating supply, inflation schedule, token allocation, and cliff-versus-vesting analysis - Incentive alignment assessment: whether token holders, developers, and the protocol's users have aligned or conflicting interests - Team research process: verifying identities, prior projects, advisors, and institutional backers using public sources - Community and ecosystem analysis: differentiating organic community engagement from artificial activity - Market cap and fully diluted valuation: using comparable-project analysis as a rough relative value tool - On-chain health indicators: basic metrics suggesting genuine network usage vs. manufactured transaction volume - Red flag checklist: anonymous teams, no audit, excessive treasury allocation, and vague use cases The course is structured as conceptual readings progressing from whitepaper analysis through quantitative tokenomics to qualitative community and team assessment. Each topic includes a worked example applying the framework to a representative project type. Self-assessment exercises test your ability to apply each analysis step independently. This course is designed for individuals new to cryptocurrency research who want a structured, sceptical approach rather than market sentiment or social media signals. No prior background in crypto or finance is required. This course is informational and educational and does not constitute financial or investment advice. Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile and speculative; thorough research reduces but does not eliminate risk.
