About this course
Technical analysis rests on a deceptively simple premise: price action encodes collective market psychology, and by reading it carefully you can identify probable future moves. For the vast majority of forex traders, technical analysis is the primary lens through which they interact with the market.
By the end of this course you will be able to identify and explain the major chart patterns, candlestick formations, and technical indicators used in forex markets, draw meaningful trend lines and support/resistance levels, and articulate the logic behind each tool rather than applying it mechanically.
What you will learn:
- How to read a candlestick chart and interpret individual and multi-candle formations
- Drawing and validating trend lines, channels, and key horizontal support/resistance levels
- Trend identification: higher highs/lower lows structure and the significance of breaks
- Moving averages: simple, exponential, and their role in defining bias and dynamic support
- Momentum indicators: RSI, MACD, and Stochastic — what they measure and when they diverge from price
- Chart patterns: head and shoulders, double top/bottom, flags, pennants, and triangles
- Volume and open interest as confirmatory signals in forex and forex futures contexts
- Multiple time frame analysis: aligning daily trend with four-hour and one-hour entry timing
Each module is structured as a concept reading followed by annotated chart case studies that show the pattern or indicator in historical forex price data. Self-assessment exercises ask you to identify examples from additional charts before proceeding. Reflection prompts encourage you to consider when a pattern is ambiguous and how to handle uncertainty.
This course is designed for newcomers to forex and for self-taught traders who want a structured, conceptually grounded foundation. No prior chart reading experience is required. This content is purely educational and informational; it does not constitute financial advice or a recommendation to trade any specific instrument.
