Je cherchais depuis longtemps un cours qui explique vraiment comment construire un personnage mignon étape par étape, et celui-ci tient ses promesses. La progression sur les formes de base, puis les expressions du visage, est très claire et facile à suivre même pour quelqu'un qui dessine peu. J'ai particulièrement aimé la partie sur les proportions enfantines qui rendent un personnage instantanément attachant. Le seul bémol, c'est que certains exercices sur les décors auraient mérité plus de temps d'explication. Dans l'ensemble, j'ai terminé avec plusieurs personnages que je suis fière d'avoir créés moi-même.

I went in barely able to draw a stick figure and came out with a whole cast of chibi characters I actually like. The lessons on shape language and proportion for cute style really click once you see her break down a face into three or four basic circles. By the third project I was sketching my own mascot without following along step by step.

Awalnya saya cuma iseng coba kursus ini karena suka gaya gambar chibi, eh malah keterusan sampai selesai semua modul. Penjelasan tentang bentuk dasar kepala dan badan buat karakter lucu itu gampang banget diikuti, bahkan buat saya yang nggak pernah les gambar formal. Bagian favorit saya adalah saat belajar bikin ekspresi wajah yang beda-beda, soalnya di situ karakter mulai terasa hidup. Latihan menggambar latar belakang sederhana juga bikin hasil akhirnya makin lucu dan lengkap. Sekarang saya udah punya beberapa karakter orisinal sendiri yang saya pakai buat stiker chat.
