As a first-time parent going through admissions I found this genuinely reassuring. It walks you through what to expect step by step, from how your child might be observed playing to the kind of open questions they get asked, and it keeps reminding you that warmth matters more than perfect answers. My only small gripe is that some advice assumes a fairly formal interview format, and our school did a much more relaxed play-based assessment, so I had to adapt a few bits. Still, the core mindset stuff carried over perfectly and I'd tell any nervous parent to work through it.

Loved how it breaks the whole thing into stages instead of one scary event. The communication exercises are simple enough to slip into everyday chats over dinner. My son didn't even realise we were practising.

I appreciated that it never treats kids like they need to be coached into little performers. The focus on genuine confidence and letting your child be themselves felt honest. It calmed me down as much as it prepped her.

Good structure and the emotional readiness angle is spot on. A couple of the sections felt like they repeated the same point in different words. Still glad I did it before our visit.
