I've worked in IT support for six years and always dealt with security stuff second-hand without really understanding the why behind it. This course filled in a lot of those gaps for me. The way it walks through common threats, then moves into how zero-trust and network defense actually address them, made everything connect. What I appreciated most was how it built the reasoning behind each control rather than just listing them. You come away understanding why least privilege matters, why you verify every request, and how those ideas protect sensitive systems. I'm switching careers from marketing into tech and was honestly nervous this would go over my head. It didn't at all. Everything is broken down into plain language, and by the end I understood how networks get attacked, why data protection matters, and what zero-trust is actually trying to solve.
