I've worked in IT support for six years and always dealt with security stuff second-hand without really understanding the why behind it. This course filled in a lot of those gaps for me. The way it walks through common threats, then moves into how zero-trust and network defense actually address them, made everything connect. I feel a lot more confident in conversations with our security team now, and I've already started applying the mindset to how I set up user access at work.

What I appreciated most was how it built the reasoning behind each control rather than just listing them. You come away understanding why least privilege matters, why you verify every request, and how those ideas protect sensitive systems. That kind of conceptual grounding sticks with you far longer than memorizing definitions. Highly recommend for anyone new to the field who wants to actually understand security instead of just passing a quiz.

Really useful foundations, though I wish there were more hands-on labs to practice securing an actual network instead of just learning the theory. Still, the explanations of the concepts are strong and easy to follow.

I'm switching careers from marketing into tech and was honestly nervous this would go over my head. It didn't at all. Everything is broken down into plain language, and by the end I understood how networks get attacked, why data protection matters, and what zero-trust is actually trying to solve. It gave me the vocabulary and the confidence to start applying for junior security roles. Genuinely one of the better decisions I made this year for my career change.

As someone brushing up before a certification, this hit the right level. It doesn't pretend to be advanced, it just gives you a clean, honest foundation in the core ideas, threats, network defense, data protection, and the zero-trust model. The pacing is steady and nothing felt rushed or padded out. I'd point any beginner on my team to this before they touch anything more technical.
