Rebuilding After a Breakup: Identity, Relationships, and Long-Term Direction

Rebuilding after a major relationship ending takes far longer than the early weeks suggest. It involves identity, relationships, and direction across years. This applied course teaches you to work with that longer arc. By the end of this course you will be able to rebuild identity disrupted by the ending, sustain and form relationships in new patterns, set long-term direction that integrates rather than denies the past, and recognize when professional support adds the most. What you will learn: - Practices that rebuild a coherent sense of self after a long partnership ends - Approaches to friendships and family relationships that were affected by the ending - Approaches to entering new romantic relationships intentionally - Approaches to long-term direction including career, housing, and life goals - How to handle continuing complications including co-parenting and shared finances - The role of professional support in the longer arc - How to integrate the relationship and its ending into a coherent personal story The course is structured around six applied modules. Each produces a written artifact: an identity rebuilding plan, a relationships practice, an intentional dating plan, a long-term direction sketch, a continuing complications plan, and an integration reflection. This course is written for adults at least several months past the ending. By the end you will move from coping week to week to building a life that integrates the past without being defined by it.
